The FSA and FSS have asked businesses to withdraw and recall eggs from Ukraine's Yasensvit stamped 3UA1012066, all dates and sizes, over Salmonella Enteritidis. The eggs are linked to 36 illnesses in England and may have been repacked under other names.

What happened

The Food Standards Agency and Food Standards Scotland have asked businesses to withdraw and recall all dates and sizes of eggs from one Ukrainian business because of Salmonella Enteritidis contamination. The eggs are linked to 36 illnesses in England in 2026. This is a separate outbreak from the larger UK Salmonella outbreak.

Affected products

Eggs from the Yasensvit company in Kyiv, Ukraine; stamped with the code 3UA1012066; all dates and sizes. The eggs may have been supplied to catering businesses or sold through smaller retail outlets. They may have been repacked by UK businesses and sold under different names or packing center details.

The risk

Salmonella Enteritidis infection. Separately, three Salmonella outbreaks in the United Kingdom have made more than 650 people sick and two have died. The main outbreak is thought to be linked to imported eggs, but those cases are not tied to the Yasensvit eggs.

What to do

The Food Standards Agency says consumers should not eat these eggs. Businesses should withdraw them and recall any that were sold at retail.
