Bodum French press coffee makers recalled over glass carafe breakage and burn risk

Bodum USA recalls about 5.9 million French press coffee makers with replaceable glass carafes, listed models include Bistro, Brazil, Caffettiera, Chambord, Crema, Java, Jesper and Kenya, per the CPSC notice. Carafes can break during use if damaged or cracked, including from metal spoons; Bodum has 70 reports of breakage, 48 involving burns. Consumers should stop stirring with metal utensils and contact Bodum for a plastic spoon and warning label.
